Washington Academic Middle School
Staff2012Md.jpgWashington Academic Middle School (WAMS) is located in Sanger, California, approximately 12 miles southeast of Fresno. We are a 6th-8th grade middle school of approximately 1700 students. We have a dynamic staff of educators that love teaching and are committed to the success and well being of every student.

WAMS has continued to make huge strides in academic achievement as evidenced by last year's 43-point gain in the Academic Performance Index that far surpassed the state goal of a 5-point gain.  WAMS boasts a "10" similar school ranking and a "7" state ranking.  Over 20 districts visited WAMS during the 2009-10 school year, observing our effective practices to help ALL students learn.

We will continue our focus this year of making sure all students are prepared for high school by the end of their eighth grade year.  We not only work hard to help our students be successful academically, but we work hard to ensure we have a safe campus.  We strongly encourage students to get involved.  We have multiple opportunities for any student to find their nice athletics, performing arts, academic teams, and clubs.  Middle school is a time to experience some new positive activities.
